'Resin bound' is the fastest growing surfacing solution in the UK. And for good reason, because no other hard surfacing system offers the same range of strength, resistances, structural and aesthetic benefits as a resin bound aggregate driveway. These include permeability (SUDS compliant), colour stability, strong resistance to weed growth, frost & oil spillages, it's seamless, low maintenance and attractive. There's a fantastic choice of colours too from golden quartz to white flint, or we can blend aggregates to create custom shades; ask to see samples! Motifs, logos or similar can also be incorporated into the overall driveway design if you so wish. If you're looking for a driveway with WOW factor and kerb appeal, 'resin bound' is the way to go. The high quality materials used, combined with the attention to detail Armstrong's are renowned for, means you'll end up with a driveway to be truly proud of, guaranteed. Learn more...
Block Paving sometimes known as brick paving has been around for centuries. Armstrong's Roads & Driveways bring over four decades of experience to the table. A durable concrete paver with an aesthetically pleasing finish in tone with the surrounding built environment is what most customers look for. Armstrong's Roads & Driveways only ever employ the best and most experienced workers in the business. From the smallest pathways & road repair jobs to the largest commercial surfacing contracts, we strive to deliver our services in the most professional manner, with a high emphasis on Health & Safety. But that doesn't mean we don't have a sense of humour! The words 'Tarmac' and 'North East' are synonymous with one of TV's most acclaimed drama series 'Boys from the Blackstuff' which ran from 1980 thru to 1982. The series gripped the nation at a time of deep recession with the British Film Institute describing it as 'TV's most complete dramatic response to the Thatcher era and a lament to the end of a male working class culture'. As recently as 2007, Channel 4 broadcast a 'Top 50 Dramas' programme based on input from film industry professionals, which had 'Boys from the Black stuff' at number 2. Here's not the place to go into detail about the storyline, suffice to say it involved labourers travelling to Teesside to find work as casual tarmac layers. 'Black stuff' was the slang term for 'tarmac'. But what is Tarmac? Google the subject and you'll find the most commonly searched query is 'What's the difference between tarmac and asphalt?' The two materials are closely related, they look the same to the untrained eye, and are similar in cost. Armstrong's Roads & Driveways use both; tarmac is the preferred product for most domestic applications, while asphalt is more often used for commercial jobs, yards, forecourts and car parks for example. Edward, Henry and the team have totally transformed my dilapidated old drive into a superb new resin bound driveway complete with coordinating boundary wall. They clearly have great enthusiasm for what they do and are full of good ideas to bring the customer the results they want.
